Several Haynes lab members including Cassandra Barrett, Rene Daer, David Nyer, Stefan Tekel, and Daniel Vargas will be presenting research at a 2016 Fall Retreat organized by the Engineering Biology Research Consortium (EBRC). The retreat will take place at CalTech in Pasadena, CA November 1 – 3, 2016. EBRC members include some of the most prestigious labs in synthetic biology. Attendees will come from academic, industry, and government institutions from across the country.
Ph.D. student Rene Daer (Biological Design, SBHSE) will present a talk entitled “Chromatin dynamics: A synthetic biology approach to engineering human chromatin.” She will also present an update on the EBRC Student and Postdoc Association.
Ph.D. student Cassandra Barrett (Biological Design, SBHSE) will present a poster on her work towards “Controlled gene re-activation via engineered chromatin remodeling.”
Research technician David Nyer will present a poster on “Regulation of cancer epigenomes with a synthetic chromatin protein.”
Ph.D. students Stefan Tekel and Daniel Vargas (Biological Design, SBHSE) will present a poster entitled “An in vitro pipeline for screening synthetic epigenetic protein binding.”
